The Sorting Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and monitoring of automated and manual sorting equipment to ensure the finished product meets established quality standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining accuracy, identifying defects, and driving overall efficiency in the manufacturing process. Position Type: Hourly, Full-Time (Non-Exempt)
Shifts:
Shift 2: 3:00pm – 11pm
Shift 3: 11:00pm – 7:00am
Pay Range: $17.00 - $20.00/hour (depending on skills and experience)
Shift Differential: +$1.00 for 2nd Shift, +$0.75 for 3rd shift
Work Location: Onsite - Saegertown, Pennsylvania 16433Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate sorting machines and inspection systems.
Visually and mechanically inspect parts to identify and remove defective or non-conforming product.
Record accurate counts and complete required production and quality documentation.
Handle materials and sorted product in accordance with labeling and packaging procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Monitor machine operation and report malfunctions or abnormalities.
Follow work instructions and production schedules to ensure timely output.
Collaborate with quality and production teams to support continuous improvement efforts.
Perform additional duties as required.Skills/Competencies
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic math skills and ability to read measurements.
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with sorting or inspection equipment.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
Strong time management and communication skills.
Comfortable using basic computer systems or input devices for data entry.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
Previous machine operation experience strongly preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
Demonstrated work history with steady employment and minimal gaps.
Proven reliability and punctuality to support production schedules.Required Qualifications

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
