Senior Technical Pricing Analyst

Are you a seasoned pricing professional with deep expertise in personal lines insurance, particularly motor? Do you bring advanced experience in building and refining models using GLMs and GBMs, and a strong command of tools like Radar, Emblem and SAS? If so, we want to hear from you!

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Pricing Analyst to join our Underwriting team in our Gibraltar office.

In this role you’ll provide analysis, insight and competitive advantage by producing recommendations and reports which maximise the profitability of the insurance company.

Developing the best talent means a lot to us too, so you’ll manage workloads, motivate and develop analysts within the Technical Pricing team. You’ll share your thoughts with the team to continually progress our methods and team knowledge.

Core skills we’re looking for to succeed in the role:

Personal lines insurance in particular Motor pricing knowledge

Strong experience using GLMs and GBMs

Advanced knowledge of Radar, Emblem and SAS

Nice to have skills, but optional:

Experience using Python and Data Bricks

What’s involved:

Oversight of burn cost and statistical models including research, development and implementation of new models and improvement of existing ones

To assist the Head of Technical Pricing to implement strategies ensuring achievement of agreed KPIs

To monitor 1CU premium strength and expected loss ratio against ultimate’s

Production of findings in a clear and logical manner

Ability to find solutions to and make recommendations on everyday business issues

To produce research that will improve business practice

Ensure excellent communication with all internal business areas, including presentation on key subjects to the management and board members

To mentor and support other members of the Pricing Team

Adhere to the Company values at all times and encourage others to demonstrate these

Ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times embedding the delivery of good customer outcomes and the company values

Experience & skills

Solid experience of a statistical role within the personal lines insurance industry, preferable motor insurance

Solid experience of SAS, EMBLEM and Radar

Excellent data and statistical analysis skills

Excellent numerical skills

Good communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to present complex concepts at a level appropriate for the audience

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adopt a logical approach to solving problems

Good time management and organisation skills

Strong IT skills

Qualifications

Degree level or above in a Statistical, Mathematical or Actuarial Science
