Staff WordPress Developer

Summary: The Staff WordPress Developer is a senior-level role focused on technical leadership and software design.. The role often bridges the gap between hands-on coding and high-level architecture, working closely with both developers and management to ensure technical excellence and alignment with business goals.

Location

This position is permanently remote for the right candidate but must work US based hours.

Compensation

Base Salary will be in the range of $100,000 USD to $150,000 USD and will vary depending on location and skill set.

Responsibilities:

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code

Provide technical guidance for the design, architecture, and implementation of complex software systems

Make high-level design decisions and provide guidance on coding practices and development methodologies

Test and debug code to ensure functionality and quality

Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables

Provide guidance to the team. fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

Ensure adherence to best practices and standards

Maintain comprehensive documentation for all development work, including technical specifications, user guides, and process flows

Execute bug fixes

Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with the team

Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, implementing solutions to improve performance, scalability, and reliability

Provide meaningful feedback and project updates to ensure projects stay on track and meet customer needs

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance our products

Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

7+ years development experience in the WordPress space

Transparent and reliable, owns both successes and failures

Strong experience with MySQL

Full understanding of the product development life cycle and project methodologies (agile/scrum)

Strong experience crafting modern PHP and working knowledge of current frameworks

Proficient in React. js and its core principles

Advanced HTML & CSS knowledge

Experience with developing blocks for the Block Editor

Full understanding of continuous integration and automated deployment pipelines

Highly skilled at building accessible, performant sites

Comfortable working in a Linux environment

A passion for improving software/systems

Ability to work remotely with little-to-no oversight
