SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Workstation Server Administrator to sit onsite in the Columbia, SC area to support and enhance our client's workstation imaging and end-user platform services. This role focuses on Windows OS imaging, build standards, and hardware validation while providing technical guidance to workstation support teams. The ideal candidate brings deep Windows and hardware expertise, a passion for automation, and a structured, documentation-driven approach to operational excellence.
Requirements of the Workstation Server Administrator
Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field OR 2 years of job-related work experience
Minimum of 2 years of technical operations or workstation support experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems
High technical depth in PC hardware, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
Experience supporting and troubleshooting printer hardware Certifications:
CompTIA A+ certification (required at a minimum) Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
PowerShell or scripting experience
Familiarity with automation concepts and no-touch deployment models
Documentation and technical writing experience
Exposure to software and image deployment tools such as MDT, SCCM/ECD, Intune, or BigFix
Experience with Citrix XenDesktop environments Responsibilities of the Workstation Server Administrator
Participate in daily standups to review completed work, daily priorities, and roadblocks
Review and manage incoming work through Azure Boards on a daily basis
Build, update, and maintain Windows workstation images as required
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to Workstation Support teams during the image build process
Configure, update, and document workstation build standards for all WSS sites on a monthly basis
Leverage Sysprep processes and deployment tools such as Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) and Intune with Autopilot
Document and maintain hardware seed units in the imaging lab for testing and validation
Attend weekly Workstation Hardware Evaluation team meetings
Partner with technology owners to document configurations and standards to improve issue resolution times
Perform administrative tasks including reporting, ordering replacement parts, and tracking inventory and imaging lab assets
Stay current with Windows OS roadmaps, workstation imaging technologies, and emerging tools
Research and evaluate hardware standards and performance using current testing tools Location: Onsite in Columbia, SC
