Direct Support Professional Sub for Employment Enrichment Services (EES) Day Program – M-F between 9:00am – 3:00pm days will vary based on needs of the program
Bristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) is a non-profit organization supporting adult individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities by providing them with Residential, Vocational, Recreation and Day Support Services.
BARC is currently seeking professional, caring, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to substitute in our Employment Enrichment Service (EES) Day Program. In this role, you will teach and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting personal growth and helping them work toward achieving their employment goals. Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least age 18.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:
Provide opportunities for learning new skills and independence by working on individuals’ goals and plans.
Teaches curriculum provided in the program.
Provide direct care as assigned/needed.
May require transporting individuals to and from programs and activities.
Electronically record daily activities maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect the identity, medical, HIPPA information.
Provide safe and nurturing environment where Individuals are treated with dignity and respect, can exercise their rights and responsibilities and are protected from abuse or neglect.
Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Efforts:
May include extended periods of standing, sitting, walking with occasional periods of stooping, crouching, kneeling.
Skills:
Experience working in a classroom setting and teaching a curriculum is preferred.
Working knowledge of computers.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate sound judgement and decision-making skills.
Willing & able to complete all essential responsibilities.
