As a Data Center Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the project manager and/or superintendent in various aspects of our new data center project starting in Q1 2026. Your key responsibilities will include:

Coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and the Independence Construction project team.

Monitoring and ensuring compliance with construction contracts involving Owners, subcontractors, and vendors.

Coordinating materials and services for the job site in collaboration with the superintendent.

Managing meetings throughout each phase of construction and preconstruction.

Assisting the project manager with budget management, cost projections, and generating reports.

Reviewing and coordinating structural, architectural, and MEP drawings throughout the project lifecycle.

Supporting the project manager in managing change processes and contractor proposals.

Negotiating costs for scope changes and logging them correctly.

Issuing subcontractor change orders upon project approval.

Overseeing the RFI and submittal processes, maintaining logs, and distributing necessary information.

Keeping accurate and current records of all project-specific documentation.

Coordinating project meetings and attending Owner / Architect / Contractor meetings.

Processing subcontractor payment applications and assisting with owner payment applications as assigned.

Helping the superintendent and project manager update the Master Schedule.

Contributing to the development of the project Quality Assurance/Quality Control program.

Aiding with the project close-out process, including punch lists and warranty requirements.

Do you have what it takes?

Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent experience.

2-5 years of relevant experience required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Familiarity with budgeting and expense control.

Ability to write reports and business correspondence effectively.

Skilled in organizing work and managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

Capacity to perform duties independently.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Strong attention to detail.
