Company: WaveRyde Instruments is growing its world-class technical team for quantum sensor-systems for 5G applications. Job description:

We're seeking an FPGA Engineer with expertise in digital signal processing and automation control to join our team on-site in Waterloo, Canada. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, integration and deployment of FPGA-based control systems on RFSoc platforms for applications in systems control and real-time data processing. You will be a member of a multidisciplinary team and play a critical role in driving technical excellence, ensuring project milestones are achieved, and fostering innovation.

Key responsibilities:

Design FPGA systems to deliver high-quality solutions.

Develop FPGA architectures for RFSoc platforms, focusing on real-time device control, signal processing, and high-speed data acquisition.

Work closely with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and system performance.

Oversee the development lifecycle, including design, simulation, verification, and integration of FPGA components.

Drive the adoption of new technologies to enhance system capabilities and performance.

Required qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

5+ years of experience in FPGA development.

Expertise in RFSoc platforms, including Vivado, Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+, or similar tools.

Strong background in real-time data processing, high-speed communication protocols, and systems control.

Proficiency in hardware description languages (VHDL/Verilog) and simulation tools (e.g., ModelSim, Questa One SIM, Vivado).

Experience with designing feedback loops, signal processing, and integration with analog/digital systems for systems control.

Preferred qualifications:

PhD degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a closely related field.

Experience in server management.

Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Julia and Python.

Experience with PYNQ
