Complete Understanding of MySQL's underlying storage engines
Knowledge of Automated Failover Solutions for MySQL
Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
Knowledge of TDE (At Rest Encryption)

Significant Automation experience with 'shell' and 'SQL' scripting
Significant Knowledge of MySQL version 8.x and new features
Strong knowledge of ODBC/JDBC client/server communication
Conversion to Full-Time: This position is contract with the right to hire if a need becomes available.
Manager will only consider candidates open to converting to full-time PNC employee.

Roles and Responsibilities: The Senior MySQL DBA will have responsibility primarily for MySQL database technologies.
Typical work-related activities include: Install, patch, upgrade, configure, tune, and maintain MySQL databases (versions 8.0.x, 8.4.x migrating to 8.0.42, 8.4.5) Innovate and implement Innodb clustering across multi-data centers Troubleshoot critical performance bottlenecks Review and assess database design changes.
Collaborate with IT teams and vendors Represent database group in projects Monitor, maintain, backup databases Manage database security per PNC policy Review stress testing results Automate tasks and streamline processes Experience with automated installation and patching is a plus Mentor and support team members
