Location: Detroit, MI Area

Mission:

Our client, an engineering firm with premium food processing services, is looking for a Process Engineer to add to their team. In this role you will be responsible for

Successful candidates MUST HAVE experience in a food processing plant environment (and/or other singular qualifier under Competencies/Culture below).

What you'll be responsible for:

Specification and design of the equipment scope including the preparation of PFD and P&ID schematics

Perform mass and heat balance calculations

Prepare bid specifications

Dimensioning of the installations and related equipment: sheet metal equipment, specifications on specific equipment (valves, heat exchangers, rotating machines, instrumentation, etc.)

Development of the functional description and the operating manual

Commissioning of the System

Work closely with Process Engineering group and General Manager in identifying new business opportunities

Prepare technical sales presentations

New business development by interfacing with potential new customers

Competencies/Culture:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

2+ years of Processing Engineering experience

Knowledge of vacuum evaporation and spray drying processes

Experience in a food processing environment (dairy ideal)

Preparation of PFD and PID schematics

Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
