JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer LOCATION: Greenville, MI REPORTS TO: Value Stream Manager DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing JOB SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products within a manufacturing plant environment.

Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the Quality function to assure compliance to company standards and customer requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Designs, develops, and supervises the building, installation and initial operation of new equipment to improve existing mechanical manufacturing processes in the Greenville plant.

* Provides first line engineering and technical support for problem solving of day to day quality and operational issues in the manufacturing process to include tooling and machinery issues.

* Coordinates with Manufacturing and Quality departments on machine design, practices, and concepts.

* Maintains operational follow-up on equipment designed to determine need for modifications.

* Reviews plant manufacturing operation for potential areas of equipment improvements for cost reduction consistent with development and equipment costs.

* Furnishes prints and operating manuals for all equipment designed or installed.

* Supervises technical and mechanical help involved in the development and installation of project items.

* Writes Appropriation Requests.

* Writes ECAPs for new machines.

* Completes at the required intervals all audits including layered process audits.

* Reviews scrap and repair work to pinpoint problems and recommend corrective action to minimize scrap thereby improving plant profit.

* Conducts and evaluates capability studies on both present and new equipment and processes.

Provides documentation for production samples.

* Provides necessary surveillance over sample parts to ensure customer satisfaction at a minimum cost.

* Suggests areas requiring process improvement.

* Actively uses G-8D, FM TIPS, or other customer-required problem-solving tools.

* This position is authorized to make quality calls on non-conforming product up to and including stopping production to protect the customer.

* Serves as a team member when required and represents the Quality function (on teams such as APQP, Quality Systems audits, new business opportunities, etc.) * Serves as Quality representative on product launch teams.

* Prepares PPAP, PSO, and other quality documentation for product launches.

* Conducts and provides direction on Gage R & R studies.

* Actively engage with operations in Poke-Yoke implementation and verification activity on the production lines.

* Performs all other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years in Engineering or related Manufacturing experience preferred REQUIREMENTS: • Strong computer skills * Communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills * Organizational skills * Developed troubleshooting/problem-solving skills * Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics * Presentation skills preferred
