Our client is an international engineering group specialised in designing, manufacturing, installing and maintaining lifting & handling systems for the oil & gas, nuclear, military and renewable energy industries. As part of its regional development in Malaysia, the company is recruiting a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support growing industrial activities.
Role Mission
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will contribute directly to the successful development of the Malaysian operations, from the start of the production phase through to delivery of equipment, with the ultimate objective of ensuring client satisfaction in demanding, project-based industrial environments.
You will be responsible for developing, optimising and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, safety and cost efficiency, while working closely with engineering, production, procurement and quality teams in Malaysia and in France.
Key Responsibilities
Process Design & Optimisation
Execute and plan detailed manufacturing drawings provided by the Mechanical/Design Engineering team.
Create, review and continuously improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Conduct tests, track process performance during production, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Perform process capability studies and statistical analysis to support data-driven decision-making and achieve production targets.
Monitor and analyse process data, identify trends and propose continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical & Production Support
Provide hands-on technical support to troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues impacting quality, cost and throughput.
Work closely with Production Engineer and Workshop Lead to facilitate fabrication activities on the shop floor.
Participate in design reviews and challenge fabrication limitations with Mechanical Engineers.
Prepare and maintain production technical documentation, including process sheets, work instructions and checklists.
Report regularly on the progress of your missions and raise early alerts in case of deviations versus manufacturing plans.
Industrial Layout, Costing & Technology Integration
Contribute to equipment layout design and planning to ensure efficient and safe production flows.
Estimate production costs for budgetary and financial forecasts.
Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools and systems that can improve process efficiency and robustness.
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to secure required materials or services at optimised cost and quality levels.
Interfaces & Travel
Work closely with:
Industrial Manager (line manager, Malaysia)
Production, procurement and quality teams in Malaysia
Mechanical Engineering teams in Malaysia and France
Local partners and suppliers, maintaining positive, long-term relationships
Operate mainly in an office setting with frequent visits to factories/plants to supervise operations.
Be available for short business trips to France and other countries when required.
Responsibilities & Accountability
Ensure the conformity of all studies and process activities under your scope with respect to budget, schedule, technical specifications and relevant regulations.
Guarantee the accuracy and completeness of all technical documentation you are responsible for.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of related experience in manufacturing / industrial environment (strong fresh graduates with relevant internships may also be considered, depending on the hiring strategy).
Experience in structural steel fabrication is a strong advantage.

Basic proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD to read and verify detailed drawings (3D models, technical drawings and assemblies).
