About The Role

The Director of Procurement will lead the company’s procurement strategy, processes, and vendor management functions across all global operations. This role will own strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, spend optimization, risk management, and procurement governance.

The ideal candidate is an experienced procurement leader with a background in software, technology, cloud infrastructure, and professional services procurement - able to balance strategic leadership with operational execution in a fast-paced, scaling SaaS environment.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute the global procurement strategy aligned with company growth priorities.

Build a scalable procurement operating model supporting multiple regions, teams, and business units.

Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, Security, Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Operations to ensure procurement supports enterprise objectives.

Vendor & Category Management

Lead sourcing and negotiation for software, SaaS applications, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), data services, and professional services.

Establish global category strategies and supplier segmentation frameworks.

Conduct market research to identify emerging suppliers, technologies, and cost-saving opportunities.

Purchasing & Governance

Oversee purchasing operations using Coupa, including supplier onboarding, requisitions, workflows, and spend policies.

Define procurement policies, approval workflows, and spend controls in partnership with Finance and Accounting.

Oversee end-to-end procurement operations including RFPs, vendor evaluations, and contract lifecycle management.

Implement procurement KPIs and dashboards to measure savings, performance, and risk exposure.

Financial & Risk Management

Partner with Finance to forecast spend, manage budgets, and deliver cost optimization initiatives.

Ensure vendor compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements in partnership with Information Security team (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR workflows, InfoSec reviews).

Minimize risk through diversified vendor portfolios and robust contract terms.

Team Leadership

Manage and mentor a global procurement team of three.

Build a culture of partnership, transparency, and operational excellence internally and externally.

What You’ll Bring

10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.

Experience in SaaS, enterprise software, or technology-driven organizations.

Hands-on experience deploying, scaling, and operating procurement workflows in Coupa.

Strong background managing sourcing for software, cloud services, IT, and professional services categories.

Demonstrated success building or scaling a procurement function in a growth-stage or mid-market company.

Exceptional negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.

Strong understanding of data privacy/security controls and their impact on procurement.

Experience working with global teams and stakeholders across time zones.

Preferred

Experience in a company between $100M–$500M in annual revenue.

Familiarity with additional tools such as Ironclad, or NetSuite.

Professional certifications (CPSM, CIPS, PMP, etc.).

Experience supporting InfoSec, Compliance, and Legal teams on vendor governance workflows.
