The Team

Partner Experience sits within Capital Platform and scales relationships with lenders and investors through customer experience solutions. This team helps partners access the insights, tools, and controls they need to deploy capital confidently and grow with Upstart. Our platform priorities center on speed, trust, and control for partners, delivered through reliable data, intuitive workflows, and secure access across products.

The Role

Were hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build partner?facing systems that improve transparency, reliability, and self?service across our capital ecosystem. Youll contribute to services and UIs that power reporting, onboarding, and ongoing operations for lending partners and investors, collaborating closely with Product, Design, Analytics, and other engineering teams.

This is an impact?driven role where your work will directly strengthen partner confidence, reduce operational friction, and accelerate capital deployment.

What youll do

Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs, services, and UIs that enable partners to access performance data, operational workflows, and program controls.

Ship clear, well?tested code; participate in code reviews; and improve reliability through logging, metrics, and alerting.

Work across the stack (backend, data access, and front?end integration) to deliver end?to?end capabilities with strong security and availability.

Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into simple, reliable workflows and self?service tools that reduce manual processes.

Own deployment and operational readiness in cloud environments, including CI/CD, observability, and incident mitigation.

Contribute to technical design docs and help evolve our platform architecture for partner experiences over time.

Minimum requirements

3-5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on full-stack development, distributed systems, and APIs

Experience with some or many of the following: Ruby on Rails, Kotlin, PostgreSQL, React, Next.js, Vercel, Python

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and deploying applications in a cloud native environment

Experience with microservices architecture and real?time data processing pipelines (Kafka, Spark, or similar)

Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL and data warehousing solutions

Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross?functional teams

Preferred qualifications

Experience in capital markets, financial services, or a related industry, with a strong understanding of market structures and regulations

Prior experience or demonstrated enthusiasm for working on internal tools

History of thriving in a variety of work environments: both collaborative and self?directed; remote and in?person

Nice to haves

Experience working with large datasets, data modeling, and building robust data pipelines

Travel requirements

As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to spend high quality time in?person collaborating via regular onsites. The in?person sessions cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2?4 consecutive days at a time.

United States Remote - Anticipated Base Salary Range: $163,600$226,400 USD
