Job Description: Ab Initio ETL Developer
Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ/ Atlanta, GA
We are seeking a skilled Ab Initio ETL Developer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade data integration solutions using Ab Initio. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in ETL workflows, data modeling, performance tuning, and working with large-scale datasets across complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement ETL workflows using Ab Initio.
Build and maintain data pipelines supporting ingestion, transformation, and loading across various systems.
Develop reusable components, frameworks, and metadata-driven ETL solutions.
Work with structured and unstructured data to support analytical and operational reporting needs.
Integrate data from multiple sources including relational databases, flat files, APIs, and streaming data.
Ensure data quality, cleansing, profiling, and validation.
Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, and optimisation of ETL jobs for performance and scalability.
Troubleshoot production incidents and ensure high availability and reliability of data pipelines.
Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements.
Translate business rules into technical specifications and mapping documents.
Maintain clear technical documentation, job schedules, and data flow diagrams.
Support code migration across environments (DEV/QA/UAT/PROD).
Implement configuration management and version control best practices (Git, SVN, etc.).
Provide on-call support for production ETL processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
3–8+ years of hands-on experience with Ab Initio ETL tools.
Strong experience with GDE, Co>Op, EME, Conduct>It, and Control Center.
Proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, and working with RDBMS such as Oracle, Teradata, Snowflake, or SQL Server.
Good understanding of UNIX/Linux environment and shell scripting.
Experience with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, ETL best practices.
Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments.
