American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position specializing in oncology care, requiring an OH or compact RN license and strong telemetry skills.
Job Details
• Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit with a focus on oncology patients,
• Care for adult and geriatric patients diagnosed with various cancers including endometrial, bladder, renal, ovarian, and cervical,
• Perform treatments such as chemotherapy, brachytherapy, clinical trials, and CBI,
• Staffing ratios aim for 1:4, with possible adjustment to 1:5 based on unit needs,
• Night shift with 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), D/N shift also available,
• Variable weekends based on unit needs,
• Use of EPIC EMR is required,
• First week orientation occurs Monday to Friday on dayshift, followed by 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor,
Job Requirements
• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration,
• Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required,
• Current BLS certification required,
• Experience with oncology procedures including chemotherapy administration and brachytherapy required,
• Ability to interpret and respond to telemetry dysrhythmias required,
• Completion of nursing education at an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required,
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor,
• Preferred Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy certification,

• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and manage central lines and feeding tubes,
• Participate in clinical trials and provide data collection and documentation,
• Emphasis on infection prevention and patient falls management,
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary and rapid response teams,
• No set or blocked scheduling; self-scheduling requests are accommodated,
• First-time travelers will be considered,
