American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Oncology position caring for acute leukemia patients, requiring Chemo and ONC certification.
Job Details
• Work in an inpatient Oncology unit focused on acute leukemia and hematology patients,
• Adult and geriatric patient population,
• Shifts are 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30, with some day/night flexibility,
• Staffing ratio goal is 1:4, may be up to 1:5,
• Variable weekend shifts based on unit needs,
• Self-scheduling requests accommodated prior to final schedule,
• First week orientation is dayshift Monday through Friday; second week includes 36 hours on-unit with preceptor,
• Uses Epic for computerized charting,
Job Requirements
• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration,
• BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemo certification required,
• MS/Tele and telemetry experience required, including interpretation of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring,
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required,
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, feeding tube, peripheral and central line care, including PICC management, required,
• Experience using rapid response teams required,
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program,
• Two professional references required, at least one from management or formal leadership,

• Primary responsibility is caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients,
• Heavy emphasis on infection prevention and fall prevention protocols,
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon acceptance, with in-state or mailed option based on current location,
• First time travelers are not eligible for this assignment,
• Former employees eligible if separated for at least 6 months; current employees at Ohio State University hospitals are not eligible,
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers,
• Requested time off must be included for consideration,
• NIHSS certification preferred,
• Teamwork emphasized in a high-acuity environment,
