Principal Architect (Solutions)

Insight Global is looking for a Principal Architect for a permanent, direct-hire opportunity that will sit 100% onsite in Columbus, OH. This Architect will bring end-to-end architectural vision and delivery for strategic programs. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding about how complex banking systems evolve (from legacy platforms to modern SaaS), and they must be able to connect the dots between technology, business value, and customer outcomes. This Architect will be responsible for translating architectural strategy into solutions by combining technical insight, delivery discipline, and a strong sense of accountability to bring the architecture to fruition.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Architectural Leadership

• Envision, define, and communicate enterprise-wide solution architectures spanning legacy systems, integration layers, and SaaS.

• Translate complex customer environments and business needs.

• Maintain accountability from concept through implementation, ensuring architectural integrity throughout design, build, and deployment.

Technical Delivery and Solution Realization

• Provide hands-on guidance during design, implementation, and production rollout to ensure architectural intent is realized in delivery.

• Lead technical deep-dives, reviews, and troubleshooting sessions to resolve complex issues quickly and effectively.

Internal

• Partner with support and operations teams to ensure seamless transition from implementation to production, maintaining reliability and customer confidence.

• Engage during critical delivery periods (including evenings or weekends when necessary) to ensure continuity and exceptional customer experience.

Customer Engagement and Partnership

• Act as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers navigate transformation from legacy platforms to SaaS adoption.

• Present architectural roadmaps, strategies, and modernization approaches to technical and executive stakeholders.

• Build strong relationships with customer counterparts based on transparency, trust, and technical depth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership

• Partner with engineering, product, and delivery teams to align architectural direction with platform evolution and implementation practices.

• Contribute to architectural governance, ensuring standards and best practices are applied consistently across programs.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Stay current on industry trends in cloud, SaaS, data modernization, and banking technology, bringing relevant insights into engagements.

• Identify opportunities to optimize architecture patterns, deployment models, and integration frameworks.

• Lead and participate in communities of practice, enabling learning and innovation across technical disciplines.

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of experience within the enterprise banking / FinTech industry

Experience modernizing banking core platforms

Hands-on experience in implementing enterprise-level banking solutions

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or similar)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

PMP Certification

MBA or Master's Degree

Technical experience as an Architect or Software Engineer

Java, Springboot experience (strongly preferred)
