Since 2015, they have provided budgeting and financial management software used by hundreds of municipalities to increase transparency, streamline operations, and support data-driven decision-making.
Project Description
The product replaces manual, error-prone spreadsheets used to forecast salaries and benefits (80-90% of municipal budgets). The solution automates forecasting, supports union contracts and staffing scenarios, and integrates with Budget Builder. The team develops backend services and ensures product performance, scalability, and reliability.

What You'll Do
Develop and maintain backend features using Node.js and TypeScript
Refactor legacy JavaScript into TypeScript
Analyze and optimize SQL queries; work on schema and indexing improvements
Implement Redis caching strategies
Improve logging, tracing, and metrics (DataDog)
Integrate PB with internal APIs and cross-product services
Troubleshoot CPU spikes, memory leaks, timeouts, and performance bottlenecks
Job Requirements
4+ years of experience in backend development
Strong knowledge of Node.js, including performance profiling
Experience with SQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), query optimization, and writing raw SQL
Understanding of message brokers (RabbitMQ or similar)
Basic cloud knowledge and familiarity with common cloud services
Experience with logging/metrics tools
Good understanding of asynchronous workflows
Strong skills with Angular v18+
English level: B1+ or higher
Nice To Have
Redis caching experience
RabbitMQ queues, topics, DLQs
Experience with ElasticSearch
Experience with distributed systems
