About the Role: Plenti is seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join our high-performing Legal & Compliance team.

Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our business units across a diverse range of legal and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities: Legal & Compliance Advisory • Provide clear, practical legal and compliance advice to Plenti’s business units • Respond to ad-hoc legal requests • Draft policies, procedures and responses to borrower, investor and shareholder complaints • Review promotional and marketing materials for compliance New Products & Features • Advise on legal and regulatory implications of new products, features and services • Partner with project and product teams to deliver compliant, customer-centric solutions Contract Drafting & Review • Draft and review agreements with loan referral partners, funders, commercial partners and service providers • Prepare and refine contract templates for consumer (regulated and unregulated) and commercial borrowers Corporate Governance • Assist in preparing reports for senior management and key stakeholders • Provide governance support to the General Counsel and Company Secretary Compliance Management • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory obligations across the business • Conduct investigations into potential incidents • Deliver compliance training to internal teams Regulatory Monitoring • Track upcoming legal and regulatory changes and support Plenti’s readiness for implementation Key Qualifications: • Tertiary qualifications in Law and admission to practice in NSW or another Australian jurisdiction • 2–8 years’ PQE • Experience advising on financial services law (Corporations Act, Consumer Credit, banking & finance) • Proven capability in delivering technical legal and regulatory advice About You: • Strong interest in financial services and understanding of sector-specific legal and commercial issues • Highly collaborative, with strong negotiation skills • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance commercial and compliance considerations • Proactive, engaged and eager to learn • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a high-performing team • Strong commitment to stakeholder experience through empathy, efficiency and commerciality
