Position: Header Welder (Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers)

Location: Catoosa/Tulsa, OK (On-Site)

Compensation: $26-$30/hour (day); $28-$32/hour (night)

What You’ll Do

• Fit-up and weld boxed headers for air cooled heat exchangers and ASME coded vessel packages.

• Perform precise MIG, TIG, and flux core welding, including 3G MIG + 2G flux-core or 3G TIG + 2G flux-core test positions.

• Interpret and follow blueprints, weld procedures, and ASME Section IX code standards.

• Maintain weld quality with 5% repair rate on x-ray/ultrasonic inspections.

• Use cutting tools (carbon arc, plasma), cranes, hoists, and grinders as needed.

• Collaborate with QC to monitor fit-up and repairs, ensuring ASME compliance.

Requirements

• Experience:

o Header welding on air-cooled heat exchanger headers or related ASME vessel packages

o Passed welding test in either 3G MIG + 2G flux-core or 3G TIG + 2G flux-core

• Technical Skills:

o Proficient in MIG, TIG, and FCAW techniques

o Code qualified(on site): at least two positions (1G, 2G, 3G, 6G)

o Able to weld carbon steel, stainless, and optionally aluminum or chrome

o Blueprint literacy & ASME Section IX understanding

• Professional Attributes:

o Dependable attendance and open to overtime (including every other Saturday)

• Certifications & Testing:

o AWS Certified Welder or ASME Section IX qualification preferred

o Welding test performed on site

Schedule & Location

• Shift Options:

o Days: Mon–Fri + every other Saturday, 6 AM–4:30 PM

o Nights: Mon–Fri + every other Saturday, 6 PM–4:30 AM

• Location: Catoosa, OK (near Tulsa)

• Shift Premium: +$2/hr for night shift

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $26–30/hour (day); $28–32/hour (night)

• Estimated Weekly Earnings:

o Day: $1,430–1,700

o Night: $1,540–1,800
