Finnair Technical Operations is responsible for the airworthiness of the Finnair fleet. The key objectives of Technical Operations are safety, reliable flight operations and cost-efficient maintenance processes.

We are now looking for

MAINTENANCE PLANNING ENGINEERS

to join Planning & Base Maintenance team. In this role you will be responsible for Finnair’s & Norra’s aircraft fleet utilization optimization by aligning maintenance workload (demand), available resources (supply) and maintenance slots in traffic program (ground time). The work will be done in close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders such as Finnair Technical Operations departments, external maintenance suppliers, Network Management, Procurement and Operations Control Center (OCC). Your aim is to produce feasible work packages for our own line maintenance production and external maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organizations. You will also be responsible for assigned planning projects and continuous improvement.

Main responsibilities:

Line and base maintenance planning of assigned fleet.

Maintenance demand and workload forecasting.

Scenario creation and potential risks identification.

Work package creation for internal and external MROs.

Change management of the planned works in cooperation with stakeholders.

Ground time optimization to support safe and cost-efficient maintenance and profitable flight operations.

Support stakeholders to secure on-time performance of the planned works.

Process description, documentation and training material preparation.

Management of assigned projects.

Work may include on-site planning duties and representation at MROs located abroad.

Continuous improvement of own work and planning processes.

Basic understanding of airline business, aircraft maintenance and planning principles.

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Coordination and prioritization skills.

Ability to withstand pressure and learn things quickly.

Teamwork and communications skills.

Continuous improvement mindset and project management skills.

Willingness to travel to perform on-site planning duties.

Bachelor's from a relevant field.

Excellent written and spoken English. Fluency in Finnish is seen as an asset.
