Job Summary:

The CDL Class A Truck Driver will manage delivery loads as defined and prioritized by the dispatch coordinator while maintaining loads free of damage/loss to Gainey's customers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Conduct pre-trip inspections at the start of each shift and ensure inspections are forwarded to Maintenance Manager and documented in the Electronic Log Directory (ELD).

Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle services and repair status using the ELD (and Physical logbook as needed).

Obtain receipts & signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required for COD loads.

Keep the interior and exterior of trucks clean and neat. Make sure truck beds are swept clean of debris each day before leaving Gainey's.

Coordinate, supervise, and assist with loading flat-bed trailer loads.

Load in plant and unload on the job site all products with a mobile crane with the use of hand controls when training is complete.

Be competent and have a full understanding of all DOTD laws and regulations pertaining to our industry.

Properly strap down all loads.

Properly load products using dunnage as required per Gainey's and industry standards.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/ Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Self-motivated, positive attitude, helpful, and have strong organizational and planning skills.

Dependable, customer service, and team-oriented.

Must have a valid Class A CDL Louisiana license.

Must be able to obtain an NCCCO mobile crane certification

Must be able to complete a 7-year background check. We also conduct pre-employment drug testing. Any job offer will be based on the results of background and drug testing.
