Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Milwaukee, WI (On-Site)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure product and process quality in our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality systems, root cause analysis, and lean manufacturing principles, with a passion for solving problems and improving performance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Lead and support Quality improvement projects across manufacturing processes to reduce internal defects, supplier defects, customer quality escapes, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and external quality issues.

Develop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, inspection instructions, and standard operating procedures.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Supply Chain) to ensure quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.

Perform data analysis on quality metrics and present findings to management with actionable recommendations.

Support internal and external audits, including ISO 9001 or other relevant standards as needed

Monitor and improve supplier quality performance through audits and corrective actions as needed

Train and mentor production staff on quality standards, tools and best practices.

Travel between 3 sites within a commuting distance of 5 miles.

Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality improvement role.

Strong knowledge of quality tools such as APQP, FMEA, CTQ, SPC, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, Pareto, and control charts.

Experience with ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

Experience in Sheet Metal Fabrication, Welding, Paint and Electrical/Mechanical Assembly processes is a plus.

Proficiency in data analysis tools (MS Excel, Minitab, or similar); Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and SharePoint is a plus.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Certification (CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a plus.

Fluent in English, additional languages like Spanish an advantage

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a manufacturing/office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
