Position Summary

The Purpose of the Accounting Manager is to support the mission of Bridgeway Academy and Bridgeway Therapy Center by ensuring that all financial operations are accurate and compliant, upholding strong fiscal stewardship. This role leads the organization’s accounting processes, maintains internal controls, and provides timely financial reporting and strategic insight to support decision making, organizational health and mission alignment.

Financial Stewardship & Compliance

Ensures all accounting practices comply with GAAP, regulatory requirements, scholarship funding requirements, donor restrictions, loan obligations, and contract terms. Maintains accurate ledgers, reconciliations, and reporting systems with exceptional attention to detail.

Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving

Identifies, analyzes, and resolves discrepancies in accounts payable, receivables, and reporting. Provides insights and recommendations to leadership that support financial sustainability and operational effectiveness.

Leadership & Team Development

Supports, mentors, and collaborates with the Bookkeeper and Billing team to ensure efficient workflows, quality standards, and continuous professional growth. Promotes a positive, supportive, and accountable team culture.

Collaboration & Communication

Communicates complex financial information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including program directors, leadership, auditors, and external partners. Builds strong relationships that support organizational financial clarity and alignment.

Process Improvement & Innovation

Evaluates and enhances financial processes, accounting systems, and reporting tools. Recommends workflow improvements and technology upgrades to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Accountability & Integrity

Models ethical behavior, confidentiality, and professionalism. Ensures timely completion of financial statements, reconciliations, audits, and reporting with accuracy, transparency, and discretion.

Qualifications/Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

Minimum of three years of accounting management experience required.

Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and GAAP.

Experience with QuickBooks Online required.

Knowledge of nonprofit financial operations preferred; experience in non-public charter schools or medical billing strongly preferred.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, staff, and external partners.

Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and work independently.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
