Position Summary:

The Process Engineer will assistin evaluating and recommending improvements to the injection molding equipmentand processes within the Plant D facility to maximize our process offerings toour customers. The incumbent will work closely with operations and engineeringto ensure compatibility of molding equipment and parameters with other Kelchprocessing equipment.

Specific Responsibilities:

Use Scientific Injection Molding principles to develop and document the injection molding parameters that will be used to mold parts for new and existing injection programs.

Aid in developing and managing systems and procedures used in injection molding, to include the departments sampling process.

Provide leadership for continuous improvement efforts, especially in the areas of injection molding processing, secondary equipment, including the use of statistics to reduce costs, improve quality and efficiencies.

Support initiatives to advance manufacturing technical capabilities and equipment selection.

Assist the Technical Development Manager to develop training paths and programs for Set-up Technicians.

Develop and manage process control systems and procedures to assure that all injection equipment is properly maintained, and all manufacturing processes are properly documented.

Coach and mentor Set-Up Technicians to ensure accurate and efficient set-up of injection jobs at the presses.

Work with Tooling engineers within the department to ensure injection molding tools are SIM'ed and developed properly according to standards.

Be responsible for the functionally related Kelch Operating Metrics. Skills & Qualifications:

Engineering Degree preferred or equivalent experience.

5-7 years of experience in engineering in a plastic injection molding facility.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Ability to effectively organize resources to complete multiple projects with competing deadlines with minimal direct supervision.

Knowledge of commonly used injection molding equipment, methods, practices, and procedures.

Solid computer skills.
