Position Overview

The Dock Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily dock operations, ensuring the accurate and efficient flow of inbound and outbound materials. This role combines hands-on forklift operation with task coordination, real-time inventory updates, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment. The Dock Lead also supports cross-functional warehouse tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Inbound Operations

Receive incoming shipments accurately and safely.

Verify shipment contents against packing lists.

Use forklift and other material-handling equipment to unload trucks.

Weigh pallets and assign to storage locations.

Update warehouse management software in real time with rack locations, inventory movement, and material weights. Outbound Operations

Bale cardboard and manage recycled processes.

Pull completed outbound materials, including bales of textiles and pallets of footwear, from processing areas to weigh and enter in to warehouse management software.

Stage and load outbound materials. Stay on top of multiple outbound shipments and ensure correct BOLs and waybills are

Maintain a clean, organized dock and racking area.

Monitor equipment and report maintenance needs.

Enforce and model safety protocols and proper forklift operation standards.

Step into other warehouse duties as required, including auditing, general labour tasks, and assisting other teams during peak periods. Coordination

Serve as the point person at the dock for daily workflow coordination.

Communicate with warehouse staff, project teams, and drivers to ensure smooth operations.

Help train new team members on dock procedures, equipment use, and software updates.

Promote a positive, safe, and productive work culture. Qualifications:

2+ years of warehouse or dock experience; lead or senior-role experience preferred.

Valid forklift certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire if expired. Previous forklift experience is required.

Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and shipping/receiving procedures.

Ability to input data accurately and update software in real time.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external drivers.

Able to lift 50+lbs and work on feet for extended periods.

High attention to detail, safety-minded, and capable of balancing multiple tasks. Preferred Attributes:

Warehouse environment with regular forklift use, truck traffic, and material handling.

Requires PPE: steel-toe/composite-toe footwear, high-vis vests.

May require occasional overtime depending on workload.

Heavy machinery on site, including balers and conveyors.

Facility is not temperature controlled, can get cold in winter and hot in summer.
