Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

The Strategic Weapons Control (SWC) program provides mission-critical capabilities to our customer's Ohio/Vanguard and Columbia/Dreadnought class submarines including tactical Fire Control, auxiliary, and training systems.

We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers' missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between.

Duties and Tasks:

Provides leadership in defining technology, tool and process strategy across a technical domain

Overall responsibility for the engineering aspects of a technical domain, to include the acquisition of critical resources

Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering efforts within area of responsibility

Capable of identifying project risks, assessing issues and developing resolutions that meet cost, schedule productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives

Review's status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports

Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, clients and other stakeholders

Serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management

Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function

Handles personnel issues within area of responsibility including merit planning, performance reviews and disciplinary actions

Participates in development of technical strategies and teaming strategies in technical domain

Participates in the proposal process, including the development of executable project plans on proposals

Ensures process compliance of all engineering activity in area of responsibility

Leads specific process improvement activities

Determines and implements the organizational training needs in accordance with the requirements of the technical domain

Ensures that domain engineers are active in developing risk mitigation plans and managing their risk profiles

May have budget responsibilities

Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors and employees

Communicates regularly with project customer, and suppliers, project team, and internal management

Regular contact with all other personnel in area of responsibility

Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals

Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies

Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s)

Expected to manage work, set objectives and meet commitments for self and others

Delegates assignments to others for developing solutions

Strong leadership skills

Applies or develops highly advanced technologies, principles, theories and concepts

Strong written and verbal communications skills, bridges communication across teams

Strong ability to think creatively

Strong ability to multi-task, skilled at executing complex tasks

Strong ability in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions

Strong ability to understand and apply project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM)

Strong experience in driving continuous improvement in Engineering process and tools

Works collaboratively with resources external to the functional or program team

Responsible for establishing and achieving operational objectives for a moderately complex function, program or program scope

Expected to integrate complex activities

Strong proficiency at all responsibilities associated with the position

Strong ability to recruit, manage and retain people

Typically has strong experience in this area of expertise

Understands, evaluates and guides the focus of all activities in a technical domain

Recognized internally and externally as an expert in their field

Demonstrates consistently high ratings on People Commitments

Travel may be required

Security clearance may be required

Erroneous decisions or recommendations may have long-term effects and may affect the image of the company's capability

Workplace Options:

This position is fully on-site in Pittsfield, MA. Flex schedule may be an option moving forward, but no less than 70% on-site.

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $150,000.00 - USD $162,500.00 /Yr.
