Overview
The largely unexplored seafloor is the latest battle space. This challenging environment is where the Subsea and Seabed Warfare (SSW) platform will take the stage. SSW is a new capability targeted for a single, late-Block-V Virginia Class submarine. It is a complex, fast-moving program with strong Navy and Congressional support.
Platform System Engineering (D417) is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Systems Engineering Test Lead. In conjunction with the LSE and other members of the D417 test team, the individual would lead and support multiple engineering disciplines in planning, managing, executing, and resolving challenges for the test program, including the following:
Briefing EB and Navy leadership on the status of the test program
Maintaining and executing the Master Test and Integration Plan (MTIP)
Overseeing and coordinating the programmatic test event, test asset, test index, and TBD databases
Maintaining the Master Integration and Test Schedule
Overseeing the efforts of the IS&T IPT and drive issues to closure
Mitigating SSW test risks
Ensuring test assignment for applicable design requirements
Assisting in the development of Non-Propulsion Test Index and Master Test Index
Assignments and responsibilities will be based on the selected applicants' experience levels, skill sets, and ambitions, as well as on the evolving needs of each project. Assignments will provide occasional travel opportunities to customer, industry partner, and test site locations. The selected candidate would be expected to be able to be present both in the EB Groton Shipyard and EB New London as needed.
Interested candidates are encouraged to seek additional information about the position and department from the hiring manager or other D417 team members.
