SUMMARY OBJECTIVE
Serves in the absence of or in support of the Event Center Manager and is responsible for the supervision of the facility during scheduled events. This position works closely with the manager to ensure the needs of renters are met and that the event space is operated in a safe, clean, and professional manner.
The Building Attendant represents the City of Goldsboro during public and private events and provides direct support to renters and staff throughout event setup, operation, and breakdown. This position requires flexibility, reliability, and strong customer service skills.
Work schedule includes weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed. Weekly hours vary based on scheduled events and shall not exceed an average of 20 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides tours and general information to potential renters about the facility and available services.
Assists renters and support staff with event setup and breakdown, ensuring proper arrangement of tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies.
Supervises the facility and surrounding grounds during events to ensure safety, orderliness, and proper use.
Performs light housekeeping duties including cleaning, trash removal, and restroom maintenance before, during, and after events.
Properly secures the building and grounds after events, including locking doors, checking lights, and setting alarms as necessary.
May perform occasional bartending duties in compliance with facility policies and applicable regulations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Requires high school diploma and experience working with the public.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
Performs medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, dancing, stretching, or lifting all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or exceptional skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving very close tolerances or limits of accuracy.
Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Visual acuity is required for determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work. The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
