Position Overview
CyberData Technologies is seeking a skilled and solution-oriented Application Programmer to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the development and enhancement of data systems for the National Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program (DPRP). This role focuses on delivering scalable public health informatics solutions that enable validated data capture, transformation, and performance monitoring across DPRP-participating organizations.
The ideal candidate will combine database programming skills with expertise in information architecture, data reporting, and system implementation. The role includes working across functional teams to ensure the DPRP infrastructure meets the growing demands of both technologically advanced and less resourced organizations.
Key Responsibilities
System Development & Data Architecture
Design and implement relational database models to support the scalability of DPRP data and reporting systems.
Create and refine logical and physical database schemas to meet evolving performance and management needs.
Lead programming tasks using technologies including Db, SharePoint, .Net, C#, and VB to deliver robust, integrated system solutions.
Data Processing & ETL Support
Develop and optimize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to support DPRP session data ingestion from a wide range of sources.
Ensure ETL pipelines are adaptable for use by both high-tech and low-tech organizations submitting validated program data.
Collaborate with program teams to document and implement data storage procedures, ensuring alignment with DPRP business rules and validation checks.
Data Extraction & Reporting
Work closely with the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) team to build data extraction mechanisms for both standardized and ad-hoc reports.
Provide technical support in responding to internal and external data requests with timely, accurate reporting solutions.
Cross-Team Coordination & IT Strategy
Consult with DPRP leadership and stakeholders to design IT solutions that address database logic, schema enhancements, and data structure improvements.
Develop communication and coordination products to support transparency across functional teams and ensure program alignment.
Provide technical insight on DPRP IT architecture during internal planning and stakeholder meetings.
Thought Leadership & Representation
Present technical approaches, system designs, and evaluation findings at national, regional, or local conferences focused on public health informatics or chronic disease prevention.
Minimum Qualifications
Proficiency with the following technologies:
Database management systems: Db
Development frameworks: .Net, C#, Visual Basic (VB)
Collaboration tools: SharePoint
Demonstrated experience designing scalable database models and implementing end-to-end application solutions.
Strong understanding of data validation, quality assurance, and public health data standards.
Experience developing and documenting ETL pipelines and data architecture frameworks.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into actionable solutions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a remote environment.
