We have an exciting opportunity for a structural engineer to work with our dams, hydropower, and water resources team.
Responsibilities include: * Designing hydraulic structures and other structural engineering projects, including preparing designs and reports related to dams, spillways, canals, pump stations, valve houses, and other hydraulic structures * Performing condition assessments of existing structures * Evaluating and analyzing existing structures * Preparing or directing the preparation of plans, calculations, and specifications for bidding and construction * Conducting field inspections of project sites to assess existing conditions * Construction administration for projects in construction * Serving as an engineer in responsible charge of reviewing, approving, and applying professional engineering seals to final plans, specifications, and reports * Leading projects as a design or discipline lead * Mentoring and providing guidance to less experienced team members * A valid driver's license and some travel will be required The successful candidate must have: * Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil, structural or architectural engineering from an accredited college or university * At least six (6) years of relevant structural engineering experience * Professional Engineer (PE) license in any state with the ability to obtain a license in California within six (6) months of being hired The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: * Experience working in a multi-disciplinary project team setting to deliver construction documents and reports * Experience designing and analyzing hydraulic structures * Strong technical writing skills and experience writing reports, specifications, and technical memorandums * Client and project management experience * Experience preparing proposals by developing scopes of work, cost estimates, and project schedules * Knowledge of California Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, ACI 350, and AISC 360 * Familiarity with Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Manuals related to hydraulic structures and FERC Engineering Guidelines * Experience with seismic evaluations and earthquake resistant designs * Experience with structural engineering software programs including finite element analysis and CAD programs such as RISA 3D, SAP2000, and AutoCAD * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * A Structural Engineer (SE) license is considered an asset, though it is not required If you have strong communication and organizational skills, are self-motivated, and can work well both independently and as part of a team, complete the online application process for this job posting at Mead & Hunt proudly offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, paid sick leave, parental leave, a 401K plan with a generous company match, life and disability insurance, and an employee assistance program.
Salary Range: $100,000 to $140,000 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: Experience, skill set or location.
