Lab Technician

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Lab Technician will support projects and lab work requests in a manufacturing setting. This role involves working with defined SOPs, producing precise samples for testing, and making minor adjustments to established product lines to improve performance or application efficiencies. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conform to all site and laboratory safety requirements and policies

Follow batch instructions to produce accurate samples for testing

Perform application and testing methods according to SOPs

Understand customer application methods and select appropriate testing to replicate customer line conditions

Maintain detailed documentation of work and testing records

Communicate progress effectively with direct manager and team members

Maintain work environment and processes in assigned area

Participate fully in safety processes, including audits and safety meetings

Collaborate with production personnel to ensure accurate batch results

Demonstrate continuous commitment to business goals and objectives

Required Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification

Minimum 3 years of work experience in chemistry or coatings industry

Ability to work independently when given clear and distinct instructions

Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset

Quick learner, self-motivated, and passionate about delivering results on time

Strong team player with proven ability to collaborate with peers

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with formulation and application guidelines

Familiarity with industrial coatings and manufacturing environments

Education: Associate's Degree
