PCU RN Job Details – Columbus, Ohio

Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Ohio nursing jobs

Facility: 36-bed Oncology Telemetry Progressive Care Unit (PCU), including Oncology, Orthopedic, and Sarcoma Transfusion Services

Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse – PCU

Contract Length: 16 weeks (Start: January 12, 2026 – End: May 4, 2026)

Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30), 36 hours/week

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1810 - $1940

Self-Scheduling: Submit your preferred schedule requests

Orientation: 1 week classroom (days), 36 hours on-unit with preceptor

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)

Minimum 1 year of recent high-acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience

2 years of oncology nursing experience preferred

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (required)

Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system

Ability to float to equivalent or lower acuity units as needed

Two professional references (at least one from a nurse manager, director, or formal leadership)

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions accepted)

PCU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care to oncology, orthopedic, and thoracic oncology patients in a Progressive Care Unit setting

Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac dysrhythmias

Administer blood products, chemotherapy, and manage central, PICC, and peripheral lines

Perform feeding tube care, tracheostomy management, and advanced wound care

Utilize rapid response teams and adhere to infection prevention protocols

Operate specialized clinical equipment: GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, PCA pumps, continuous bladder irrigation systems

Float to other PCU or MedSurg Oncology units as required

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services

Participate in self-scheduling and maintain flexibility for weekend coverage
