Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 (Central Ohio healthcare hub)
Assignment Type: Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse – Emergency Department Observation Unit
Start Date: December 1, 2025
End Date: March 2, 2026
Contract Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1680 - $1720
Patient Age Groups: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Staffing Ratio: 1:4
ER RN Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience in U.S. hospitals
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state (Ohio nursing jobs preferred)
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (American Heart Association preferred)
Experience with Epic EMR charting system strongly preferred
Community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience a plus
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Ability to provide two professional references (at least one from a nurse manager, director, or formal leadership)
ER RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in the Emergency Department Observation Unit for all age groups
Monitor and manage telemetry and cardiac dysrhythmias
Provide PCU/Stepdown level care, including IV insulin and heparin protocols
Administer blood products and manage tracheostomies
Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips, including titration
Utilize rapid response teams and perform wound care/wound vac procedures
Perform non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, oxygen therapy)
Document all patient care activities using Epic EMR system
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
