Travel Nurse Job Details
Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
Unit: Labor & Delivery, High Risk Obstetrics
Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 4/6/2026)
Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
Employment Type: Travel RN
Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults
Unit Size: 13 beds, daily census ~10
Weekend Coverage: Required
Orientation: 36 hours
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio nursing license)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AWHONN Advanced or NCC C-EFM accepted)
EPIC charting experience required
IV start and Labor & Delivery experience required
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or supervisor)
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive care for patients in Labor & Delivery, including high-risk obstetrics
Perform IV starts, administer medications, and monitor maternal and fetal status
Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and post-delivery recovery
Support breastfeeding and lactation, provide patient education
Conduct antepartum and postpartum assessments, including APGAR scoring
Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring, interpret telemetry, and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
Float to Antepartum and other units as required
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, etc.)
Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records
