We are seeking a Gastroenterology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in a hospital setting. This role includes handling inpatient consults and endoscopies with a focus on adult patient care. The locum will be responsible for participating in a call structure approximately every 1 in 4 weeks, covering from Friday 4 PM to the following Friday 4 PM. Conduct and interpret esophageal dilatation/manometry and small bowel biopsy.
Perform lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy.
Handle various upper GI endoscopies, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, with requirements such as banding of varices and PEG.
Collaborate with a team of four physicians to manage a patient load of 4-12 per day. Qualifications
Certifications: Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC preferred), BLS
Licenses: Active Massachusetts license
ERCP certification is a bonus but not mandatory. Working Hours
On-call from Friday 4 PM to the following Friday 4 PM Skills
Proficiency in EPIC EMR
Strong interpersonal skills for patient interaction
Efficient time management and problem-solving abilities
Ability to perform in high-pressure environments and carry a beeper overnight
