Electrician - Hiring

Description Position at Hood Lumber We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to support electrical maintenance at our Waynesboro, MS lumber manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities:\nSafely use appropriate tools to repair and maintain production and manufacturing equipment.\nDiagnose and repair/replace motor control circuits, pneumatic and hydraulic valves and cylinders, relays, DC and AC drives, limit and proximity switches, and other field devices.\nInstall and maintain conduit and motor wiring.\nInspect machinery and equipment to identify irregularities, malfunctions, and opportunities for preventive maintenance.\nProgram and troubleshoot VFDs, Allen Bradley software, and PLC systems.\nMonitor spare parts, electrical supplies, and equipment; initiate reorders as needed.\nOperates forklifts or other rolling stock when required.\nMaintain consistent communication with co-workers and management regarding electrical and maintenance issues.\nProactively review equipment performance, address issues, and recommend improvements to reduce downtime and operating costs.\nSupport and adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies; respond to repair or modification requests from the Safety Committee or Safety Manager.\nAssist with additional plant operations duties as assigned.

\n\nSkills:\nAbility to work independently, take initiative in a fast paced, dynamic environment.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nExcellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.\nSound problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend effective solutions.\n\nTesting Requirements:Must successfully complete an electrician maintenance exam and hands-on technical assessment.

\nRequirements/Qualifications: \nHigh school diploma or GED preferred.\nMinium of three years of electrical experience in a manufacturing environment is required.\nSelf-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.\nBasic computer skills for recordkeeping and documentation.

\nWilling and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.\nWilling and able to work in a hot, cold, noisy, industrial environment.\nWilling and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to 12 hours per day.\nWilling and able to pull and lift to 50 lbs.\n\nAdditional Information:Hood Industries offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package including medical, employee assistance program, dental, vision, cancer, flexible spending account, life, 401k, and LTD, available first of the month following completion of one month of continuous full-time employment.Hood Industries requires that applicants consent to a background check and a drug screen to continue in the selection process.
