Job Summary:

The Network Engineer L2 is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and implementing enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. The role involves working with WAN, SD-WAN, routing, and switching technologies, performing troubleshooting, monitoring network performance, and assisting in implementation and upgrades of network solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Level 2 support for network incidents, escalations, and service requests.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WAN, SD-WAN, routing, and switching.

Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and ensure high availability and reliability.

Assist in implementation, configuration, and deployment of network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, SD-WAN appliances, etc.).

Work with vendors and service providers to resolve connectivity and performance issues.

Maintain accurate network documentation including diagrams, IP address management, and change records.

Support network change management, ensuring proper testing, rollback, and risk assessment.

Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 3 engineers to ensure smooth network operations and knowledge sharing.

Participate in on-call rotation or after-hours support as needed.

Proactively identify network improvement opportunities and contribute to optimization projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

35 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking.

Strong knowledge of WAN and SD-WAN technologies (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Versa, or Viptela).

Proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, etc.).

Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, etc.).

Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, QoS, and network security fundamentals.

Experience in implementation and configuration of routers, switches, and other network devices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or SD-WAN vendor certifications.
