LOCATION: Operating off the Coast of Newfoundland (NL), Prince Edward Island (PEI), Nova Scotia (NS) and New Brunswick (NB)

CONTRACT: Short Term Contract; Estimate One (1) Year

JOB SUMMARY: Able Seafarer duties are to carry out all tasks and duties as directed by the Master or Chief Officer to ensure safe and efficient operation on deck department.
PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum 1 Year of Experience working on a wellboat (live fish carrier)
STCW II/5 Able Seafarer License or STCW Equivalent
Good understanding of live fish handling
STCW Basic Safety (STCW VI-1.1, VI-1.2, VI-1.3, VI-1.4)
Seafarer Medical (STCW)
Designated Security Duties (STCW VI-6.4)
Fish Welfare Course
Cyber Security Awareness (DNV certified)
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for maintenance and repairs on deck
Shall take part in maintenance in the engine room when needed
Responsible for cleaning cargo holds and the ship in general
Shall keep the deck stores and paint stores in good condition, and keep the paint safely stored
Take part in sea watches according to watch plan
Shall take part in bunkering operation and delivering of spill oil when needed
Shall take part in loading and discharging of the ship
Shall take part in mooring activities
Shall take part in tasks specified in the Emergency plan
Shall keep own record of rest hours
Promote and encourage others in safe work practices and use of PPE onboard
Perform other duties as assigned.
