Applied Composites (AC) is seeking an Engineer 2, Quality who provides technical expertise to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed. Assists with the development and implementation of quality systems/approaches within the programs and functions. Develops quality plans that meet relevant standards and support proposals, contracts and customer expectations. Audits and measures the success of improvement efforts and ensures adherence to contract requirements and Company quality standards. Includes tracking and reporting of quality performance data for perspective product team. Read and interpret engineering drawings of a simple to complex nature including related specifications and process documents. Understand application and use of all types of precision measuring instruments used in mechanical inspection, including interpretations of geometrical and positional tolerance requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

Provides technical expertise in the development of testing and inspection activities associated with product development and all stages of manufacturing

Implement customer contract quality requirements

Assure compliance to ISO 9001/AS9100

Interface with customers for all aspects of Quality

Resolve problems throughout the manufacturing and QA process

Maintain personnel training and certifications records

Maintain and administer the MRB system

Performs internal audits of processes using inspection results and statistical techniques to provide timely, accurate process and product analysis

Participates in root cause analysis initiatives for process related concerns

Analyzes audit results and determines proper corrective and preventative action

Defines and conducts both systematic/methodical and random/arbitrary tests to ensure proper performance of Applied Composites products

Determines document control requirements per regulatory guidelines; reviews inspection forms and records for accuracy and compliance

Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Specifications:

Education: Post-secondary degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Years' Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Skills:

Previous experience with Composites Manufacturing

Previous experience with AS9102

Previous experience with Balloon drawings and FAIR package review

Prior experience with GD&T and FMEA

Knowledge of Quality Engineering processes and regulatory requirements

Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving

Good knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering

Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems

Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
