Job Description
Supervise a team of 3-4 cost control engineers and document control specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination: Assisting with the overall project plan, including developing detailed schedules and coordinating subcontractors and material deliveries.
Financial Management: Tracking project costs, managing the budget, processing invoices, and assisting with change orders and estimates.
Documentation & Administration: Preparing meeting agendas and minutes, managing RFI (Request for Information) and submittal logs, and maintaining all project documentation and records.
Site Management & Safety: Conducting regular site inspections, ensuring compliance with safety regulations (like OSHA standards), and assisting the site superintendent with daily operations and quality control.
Communication & Stakeholder Relations: Acting as a liaison between the project team, subcontractors, clients, architects, and engineers to ensure clear communication and resolve issues promptly.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Education: A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred, but relevant work experience can sometimes be substituted.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software such as P6 Primavera, a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) is essential. The ability to read and interpret drawings /plans is also a core requirement.
Soft Skills: Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills are critical for success in this dynamic, fast-paced environment.
