Job Title: Master Electrician / 2ND SHIFT

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Master Electrician is responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and repairing all electrical systems and equipment within a textile manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all machinery, electrical installations, and plant operations function efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. The Master Electrician also provides guidance to junior electricians and maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

o Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems, motors, transformers, and control panels used in textile machinery.

o Diagnose and repair electrical faults in looms, spinning machines, dyeing units, and other textile equipment.

o Ensure uninterrupted production by promptly resolving electrical issues.

Preventive Maintenance:

o Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical systems.

o Conduct regular inspections to detect potential failures or hazards.

Supervision & Training:

o Supervise and mentor junior electricians and maintenance staff.

o Provide training on electrical safety, machinery handling, and troubleshooting procedures.

Safety & Compliance:

o Ensure all electrical work complies with local and national safety codes, standards, and regulations.

o Promote a culture of safety and conduct safety audits.

o Maintain proper documentation for inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Coordination & Reporting:

o Collaborate with production, mechanical, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.

o Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and downtime incidents.

o Recommend upgrades or improvements to electrical systems to improve efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

• Extensive experience (typically 7-10+ years) in electrical maintenance, preferably in textile or manufacturing industries.

• Strong knowledge of AC/DC systems, motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems.

• Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams, schematics, and wiring layouts.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Leadership and team management abilities.

Key Competencies:

• Attention to detail and precision in maintenance work.

• Strong understanding of textile machinery operations.

• Ability to work under pressure in a production environment.

• Good communication and documentation skills.

Working Conditions:

• Industrial environment with exposure to electrical hazards, moving machinery, and high noise levels.

• May require shift work or on-call duties for emergency repairs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.

• Comfortable working in a noisy, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
