About the Role:
Join our Intelligence & Integrations team as a Senior Backend Software Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in our mission to revolutionize healthcare. You will be instrumental in developing the systems that allow our platform to process and interpret real-time data from hardware devices, ultimately improving care quality and outcomes. Your contributions will facilitate our growth, enhancing data pipelines and establishing effective integrations with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
What You'll Own:
Architecture & Scalability: Collaborate with engineering leadership to modernize our core data models and APIs, transitioning from a point-to-point architecture to a more robust, event-driven system.
Technical Excellence: Foster a culture of delivering reliable, scalable solutions. Advocate for best practices in integration and testing to enhance development velocity and system stability.
Customer Integrations: Spearhead the development and maintenance of integrations with third-party systems, including EHRs, ensuring that our APIs are clean, well-documented, and capable of reliable communication with external platforms.
Mentorship: Provide mentorship to fellow engineers, particularly in distributed systems, AWS best practices, and secure development protocols.
Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years in backend or full-stack development, with a proven track record in building scalable, cloud-native applications.
Technical Skills:
Cloud: Strong expertise with AWS, including serverless technologies (Lambda, Fargate), message queues (SQS/SNS), and data services (Kinesis, DynamoDB, RDS).
Programming: Proficient in TypeScript and Node.js; experience with React is beneficial.
Databases: Well-versed in both relational databases (like PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (like DynamoDB).
Data Models: Solid understanding of data modeling principles and their implementation in scalable and efficient APIs.
Problem Solver: Excels at tackling complex challenges and translating them into clear, actionable solutions, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborator: Excellent communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, data science, and engineering teams to address real-world issues collaboratively.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate complex ideas clearly.
Adaptability: Comfortable in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
Start-up experience is a plus.
Details:
The annual salary for this role is $150,000-$180,000, plus equity and benefits (including medical, dental, and vision).
