PCU Nursing Job Details

Location: Portsmouth, NH 03801 (New Hampshire nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Neuro Trauma Unit (4th Floor, Main Building)

Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 6, 2026)

Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)

Hours per Week: 36

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Dress Code: Professional scrubs (no specific color required)

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1880-$2020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or step-down nursing experience

Telemetry experience required

Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Preferred: Neuro and trauma nursing experience, NIHSS and TNCC certifications

Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Experience with Meditech EMR preferred

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in a 23-bed neuro trauma progressive care unit

Monitor and interpret telemetry and bedside monitors

Care for patients with chest tubes, subdural drains, chronic vents, and high-flow oxygen

Assist with procedures such as EEGs and chest tube management

Collaborate with RNs and aides to maintain a 4:1 patient ratio

Float as needed to all inpatient units, including ICU and Emergency Department (ED)

Accurately document care and interventions using Meditech EMR
