General Application Developer - Global Investment Bank (Midtown NYC - Hybrid)

Overview
Our client, a leading global investment bank, is seeking an experienced General Application Developer to join their technology team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement automation and workflow solutions using low-code/no-code platforms and SQL Server backends, supporting key initiatives within the VPM (Vendor Performance Management) function.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with business, IT, and control functions to deliver impactful automation solutions across global teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy automation applications using low-code/no-code
platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and Alteryx.
Configure and maintain systems supporting Vendor Performance Management (VPM).
Analyze, document, and optimize business processes to identify automation opportunities.
Support, enhance, and maintain existing VPM management systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Business, Operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance, IT) to capture business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
Manage multiple development and support requests in a fast-paced production environment.
Take a proactive, solution-oriented approach to identifying and resolving technical and process issues. Requirements
Strong SQL Server expertise - including database design, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
Proven experience with low-code/no-code platforms, particularly Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and Alteryx; SharePoint integration experience a plus.
Experience delivering applications that leverage SQL Server backends.
Hands-on experience supporting and developing systems in a financial services environment, preferably across front, middle, and back-office functions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research, investigate, and propose innovative solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across global teams.
Experience documenting BRDs (Business Requirements Documents) and technical specifications.
