PCU RN Job Details

Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)

Unit: 10 Rhodes Transplant – Abdominal Transplant Unit

Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Start Date: January 26, 2026

End Date: April 27, 2026

Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), weekdays with rotating weekends and holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Patient Ratio: 1:4-5

Floating: Required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required)

Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit experience

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Proficient in Epic charting system

Skilled in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, central/PICC line management

Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Two professional references (one from manager/director or formal leadership)

Previous travel nursing experience preferred

PCU RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the Progressive Care Unit, specializing in abdominal transplant cases (kidney, liver, pancreas)

Monitor and manage patients with complex diagnoses: transplant recovery, infections, acute kidney injury (AKI), uncontrolled diabetes, hepatology, GI bleeds

Perform and manage procedures including kidney biopsy recovery and paracentesis

Utilize and monitor telemetry, bladder scanners, and Dopplers

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services

Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR

Float to other units of similar or lower acuity as needed

Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage
