Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details
Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Premier destination for Ohio travel nursing jobs
Assignment Length: 13-16 weeks
Start Date: January 12, 2026
End Date: May 4, 2026
Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Days: 07:00-19:30, Nights: 19:00-07:30; may include days, nights, or a combination based on department needs)
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1810 - $1940
Patient Ratio: 1:5
Unit: 21 East and West, HN and Neuro (36 beds, daily census ~32)
Orientation: 1 week dayshift classroom, 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
Self-Scheduling: Requests accepted; final schedule determined by facility staffing needs
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience required
Active Registered Nurse license (compact RN license or Ohio RN license required at submission)
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
Clinical skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy management
Previous travel nurse experience preferred
Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required
Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Flexible with scheduling, including weekends and floating to similar Med/Surg units
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage IVs, and perform tracheostomy care
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy
Float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed
Participate in infection prevention and patient fall prevention initiatives
Document patient care using EPIC electronic medical records system
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
