Position Summary: Youth Coaches are vital members of the 3Si team, working directly with youth to reduce risk of out-of-home placement. They provide one-on-one mentorship, focusing on building the youth's strengths, fostering attachments and relationships to school, community, and family, and creating achievable goals. Coaches help youth develop independent life skills, connect them to mental health services, substance abuse treatment, employment opportunities, and pro-social activities, while fostering supportive networks. Familiar with the communities they serve, Youth Coaches understand how Social Determinants of Health impact quality-of-life outcomes and risks, ensuring with supports are both relevant and effective.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one mentorship to at-risk youth, focusing on reducing the risk of out-of-home placements.

Work collaboratively with youth and families to identify strengths, set achievable goals, and strengthen connections and relationships with school, community, and family.

Support youth in developing independent life skills and building natural support networks.

Facilitate access to community-based resources, including mental health services, substance abuse treatment, employment opportunities, and pro-social activities.

Leverage familiarity with local communities to ensure services are relevant, culturally sensitive, and address Social Determinants of Health.

Act as a positive role model and advocate, helping youth navigate challenges and improve their quality of life.

Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma/GED required

Experience:

1+ year experience in child welfare, juvenile justice, or community engagement services required

Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required
