Purpose of Position:
The job of the Vice President Financial Advisor at Amalgamated Bank is to successfully offer financial products and services in a bank or office environment to commercial and retail prospects, with an emphasis on socially responsible investment solutions. The person is expected to meet production goals which will be reviewed on an on-going basis. The position requires a person who is highly motivated, and sales driven with an entrepreneurial mindset. Candidate should be service oriented and be able to work well with bank employees, external partners, and bank customers.
Essential Job Functions:
Meet or exceed sales goals
Attend sales and training meetings
Submit detailed activity/production reports
Develop and use prospecting lists
Meet daily with potential customers, whether in-person or virtually
Maintain active working relationships with internal and external referral sources
Establish and maintain high standards of customer service
Effectively communicate investment concepts and strategies
Perform other duties as directed
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Licenses:
NYS Life & Health Insurance
FINRA Series 7
FINRA Series 63 & 65 or Series 66
Minimum 3 years of investment sales experience, including a demonstrated track record of building and developing relationships
Previous experience with Socially Responsible/ESG investing preferred
Knowledge of financial markets and portfolio construction
Strong computer skills including MS Office suite experience
Ability to learn rapidly
Gravitas, credibility and the ability to influence internally and externally
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high energy level and strong customer service orientation
Self-motivated with ability to work independently
