Travel RN Job Details

Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)

Unit: Medical Oncology & Benign Hematology (17 East and West)

Contract Type: Travel Registered Nurse

Duration: 16 weeks (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 27, 2026)

Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00–19:30; Night: 19:00–07:30; 3 shifts/week)

Hours per Week: 36

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940–$1990

Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics

Charting System: EPIC EMR

Orientation: Comprehensive classroom and on-unit preceptorship

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience

Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

BLS certification required

Strong telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills

Ability to float to other Med/Surg Oncology units

Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)

Previous travel nursing experience preferred

ONS Chemo certification preferred

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

RN Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients with solid tumor cancers (breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, esophageal) and those receiving chemotherapy

Implement infection prevention and fall prevention protocols

Perform and interpret telemetry monitoring

Administer medications, including chemotherapy (if certified)

Manage central lines, ports, IVs, and tracheostomy care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, rapid response)

Document patient care using EPIC electronic medical record system

Participate in self-scheduling and adapt to variable weekend coverage

Support patients and families through diagnosis, treatment, and end-of-life care transitions
